Orders shipped Daylily foliage, Daffodils , Delphiniums, Greenhouse plants Dante pulls his weight

We’ve shipped our first batch of daylilies. So people in the south and on the west coast should have received their daylilies.

We shipped 230 plants, 48 orders and shipped to 25 states including, Hawaii and Alaska!

And of course we are still taking orders and will fit them in the coming weeks, to be shipped right out.

We’re starting work on the field. One of the first orders of business is to rototill the beds. We till between the rows and around the beds. This goes a long way to getting the weeds under.

And at this point everybody should have gotten a 2026 catalog. If you are still waiting or know someone that would like one let me know.

Another daylily-bamboo picture. Mainly as I like to point out the wonderful blue-green appearance of the foliage. I feel that way before the daylilies bloom, in the early part of the season, adds visual interest to the garden.

Following the phenology concept, Here’s what is blooming here in Vermont.

Daffodils in full bloom.

Last year I grew and planted Delphiniums. I planted them out and despaired that they would do anything as they looked so sad. This year I was excited to observe how vigorous the plants looked.

I think Delphiniums fall into the adage category of, first year they sleep second year they leap.

I’m expecting a nice show of blooms this year.

As every year I have a nice selection of plants i overwintered both in the greenhouse (hardy perennials) and my basement (tropicals).

In the foreground you can see a Pink Dandelion. Much the same as our common weed, but more showy.

I’ll have those and many other plants available for sale at my garden house starting in June.

I may also have some to ship.

Dante gets bonus points as he caught a rat the other night. It was in my basement, which of course is disconcerting, but at least Dante is keeping the vermin in check.
