What a difference a week makes! Suddenly the field is almost filled with blooming daylilies. In about a week it will be truly peak.

And as you can see the Scotch Thistle and Artemisia absinthum make great silvery contrast plants.

Peak Season Schedule: This week I’m open Saturday-Sunday 10-5pm.

Starting Wednesday July 15, I’ll be open Wednesday-Sunday 10-5pm.

Rock River Art Tour is July 18-19. My little Olallie Gallery is included, which will include my ceramic tiles and paintings from various artists.

We are still shipping weekly, and orders received by Friday will be shipped the following Monday.

The tall and short of it. From a landscape perspective, tall and short daylilies occupy opposite visual elements, however they complement each other perfectly. Drawing the eye in on different levels and adding interest and visual movement to the garden.

Olallie Angie Luna: An early mid season bloomer. Olallie Angie Luna, is notable for it’s blooms produced in mass just above the foliage, creating a living bouquet effect.

On the other hand Olallie Debbie’s Dream, produces taller widely branched scapes which are eye catching from a distance. Additionally the spots of intense red accentuate the red coloration.

One of my goals has been to produce daylilies that bloom vigorously and in mass. Olallie Tina’s Tears is a perfect example.

My tall H. citrina/altissima hybrids shine in the evening and seem to catch moonbeams as they fall.

Dante in the morning. Contemplating the forbidden road, or at least recognizing that is just a bit too far. I leave the front door open these days, so he can come and go as he’d like.
