This is the first daylily hybrid on record! Stout describes it as almost cadium yellow, it is a cross of H. flava and either H. fulva or H. middendorfii. Early and gold-yellow in color.

Introduced in 1893 by schoolteacher George Yeld, ‘Apricot’ was the first hybrid daylily.
