THERE MAY BE MORE LANDSCAPE MIX LATE SEPTEMBER

Minimum order of 10 plants, with generous bonuses given!

Some people have emailed me expressing interest in the landscape mixes, beyond what I think I have available right now.

I’ll see how it goes, as I’m the only digger. If I have the energy, I’ll see about digging more

You can email me if you’re interested in a mix or two.

But I will post availability in a couple of weeks.

While Showmanship is listed as starting in mid August. It has such a high bud count that it blooms well into September. Wide branching coupled with the high bud count makes for a incredible prolific bloom performance. This daylily also increases very quickly.

Regularly $17.00 on sale -25% off 12.75 for blooming sized plants

I love this picture (and this plant). It illustrates a number of things. One is that nature “finds a way”. This daylily is in my upper field where I periodically mow, and there is a rock that I have to avoid. And lo and behold a daylily seed germinated and grew, protected by the rock from mowing. It’s now a wonderful mature plant with interesting star shaped blooms.

The other “lesson” it can teach is that by planting smaller less mature plants in a hard to plant location, over time you’ll end up with a nice large plant in a hard to handle spot.

From time to time, I get asked about yellowing and brown foliage, and what to do about them. I never do anything, I let them die down naturally and then clean up in the spring.

But if you want to clean your daylily clumps. Focusing on the completely brown leaves is the best approach. Yellow or partly yellow leaves are still providing some energy to the daylily plant.
